Local Social Media​

  • Produce engaging social media content to promote Foundation Nana's mission.

  • Connect with schools and youth groups to recruit interested students.

  • Raise awareness about the programs in local communities.

Reading Buddie

​

REMOTE

  • Be paired with a student "reading buddy" to motivate reading habits.

  • Read books together and discuss them.

  • Encourage reading practice by making it a fun, interactive experience.

Conversation Partners

​

REMOTE

  • Native English speakers who volunteer to have regular conversations with English learners, helping them practice listening and speaking skills based on their English level.

  • Commitment to having friendly dialogues on mutually agreed topics and providing feedback.

  • Encourages the creation of a comfortable environment for the learner.

Reading Mentors/Tutors

IN-PERSON

  • Provide one-on-one or small group reading support and tutoring.

  • Model read-aloud techniques and make reading engaging.

  • Create thought-provoking questions to stimulate literary analysis.

  • Help choose engaging book selections for each club cycle.

  • Recommend book selections to match interests/reading levels.

  • Create lesson plans, materials, and assessments for different age/skill levels.

Debate Club Leader

  • Research possible tournaments and prepare the team.

  • Teach debate skills like research, argument construction, rebuttal, etc.

  • Help students prepare for tournaments by holding practice debates and speeches.

  • Assist other members in developing strong research and fact-checking skills.

  • Teach research strategies, source evaluation, and avoiding misinformation.

Must be a student from a public school in a rural community, and in an Hispanic country.

Library/Book Spaces Coordinators

IN-PERSON

  • Oversee operations at community library/reading space locations.

  • Manage book checkout/return processes and keep shelves organized.

  • Organize book drives and collection efforts in local communities.

  • Sort and catalog donated books by age level/genre.

  • Facilitate reading-based programming like storytimes, book clubs.

  • Promote library resources and engage with local families/students.
